A Farewell Lecture

Prof. Robert A. McKennan '25 calls his last class "a rite of passage" to the tribal rank of Emeritus Professor McKennan, who retired in June, held his last class (Anthropology 62) on the morning of June 5. His farewell lecture, given in the presence of colleagues and friends as well as students, took the form of a brief history of Dartmouth's Department of Anthropology, in which he has been the leading figure.
