Charles D. Tenney, LL.D., who has been for two years in Cambridge, Mass., as an official of the Chinese government in charge of the Chinese students studying in this country, has resigned this position to accept an appointment as Chinese secretary of the American legation at Peking. He will leave for China about May 1.

John Cotton Dana, librarian of the pubic library of Newark, N. J., is co-editor with Henry W. Kent of a series of little books entitled 'The Literature of Libraries in the Seventeenth and Eighteenth Centuries," published by A. C. McClurg & Co. of Chicago. The fifth volume in this series which has recently appeared, is a translation by Mr. Dana of "A Brief Outline of the History of Libraries," by Justus Lipsius.
