Only ten men have signified to Doctor Bowler their intention to enter the competition for the Tirrell and Powers medals for progress in physical improvement. Last year over forty men competed, some of whom have re-entered the competition this year.
The decisions in this contest are made by the President of the College and the president of the Athletic Council, who judge from measurements taken early in the fall and again on May 15. Due regard is also given to excellence in the class room; it is necessary for a candidate to have an average of at least sixty-five per cent in order to receive consideration.
