The varsity baseball team, with better financial support than ever before, and with great early promise, had on the whole a most unsuccessful season. Starting with a spring trip of unbroken success, the nine tossed away a very great majority of its games for the remainder of the year. Strangely enough, however, the team defeated some of its most important rivals, among them Yale, Columbia, Vermont, and Holy Cross, the last, of which had a record of almost unbroken victory from Dartmouth.
