John A. Munroe of Omaha, Neb., vice-president of the Union Pacific Railroad system, was honored by receiving the degree of Master of Arts from Dartmouth at the last Commencement.

A banquet in honor of George I. Aldrich, superintendent of schools in Brookline, Mass., was held in Hotel Vendome, in Boston, on the evening of June 22, 1916, the occasion being the completion of the first year of existence of the Brookline Teachers' Club, and of Mr. Aldrich's sixteenth year of service, and it marked the desire of the teachers to pay deserved tribute in their first year of organization to one who has done so much to place the Brookline schools in the first rank. Mr. Aldrich was presented with a diamond stickpin, the gift of his teachers:
