Marshall Freeman Davis died in New Britain, Conn., October 21, of infantile paralysis, after two days' illness.

He was son of Israel and Lucy (Harriman) Davis, and was born at North Conway, N. H., August 21, 1885. He fitted at the North Conway schools and at Brewster Academy, Wolfboro. He was a member of Kappa Sigma, and a football player.

For the first year after graduation he taught in the Punchard Free School, Andover, Mass. In 1910 he took a position in the high school of New Britain, where he has since remained. He was first instructor in botany, and in 1915 was appointed head master of the academic building.

June 30, 1910, he was married to Helen Prescott, daughter of Charles and Villa (Collins) Chase, who survives him. There ,are two children: Ruth Marjorie, born March " 20, 1913, and Esther Helen, born March 27, 1916.
