William A. Kneeland, floor leader in the Massachusetts House of Representatives, has signified his intention of retiring from the legislature at the end of his present term and devoting his entire time to his law practice. Of all the floor leaders in the Massachusetts House for many years, none have won higher esteem among the members generally than Mr. Kneeland, and much regret is expressed over his decision.
Dr. Harry Woodburn Chase, professor of psychology in the University of North Carolina, has been elected president of that institution. He received the degree of Ph. D. from Clark University, and has been nine years at the North Carolina institution.
