Mrs. Kate Douglas Wiggin Riggs, the author, who died in Harrow, England, August 23, was the widow of Samuel Bradley Wiggin of this class, who died in 1889.
In the recent great conflagration at Berkeley, Cal., Rev.. Frederick L. Kingsbury suffered the loss of his home, which was entirely destroyed, and Mr. and Mrs. Kingsbury, with their two grandchildren, narrowly escaped death, Mr. Kingsbury being carried to safety in the arms of his son. The family lost everything, including not only household furnishings and personal effects, but a very considerable library, wearing apparel, and money, saving only the clothing upon their persons. They were at first cared for in the family of friends.
