Dr. John McBride died of heart failure at Albuquerque, N. M., May 19, 1923.
He was born in Nashua, N. H., August 2, 1862, and graduated from Nashua High School in 1879. He received college training in Canada. In 1890 he went to Colorado and entered upon insurance business in Denver, later teaching at Walden and Greeley. Returning East, he began the study of medicine.
After receiving his medical degree he practiced first at Pittsfield, Vt., removing to Lebanon, N. H., in 1903. There he remained until 1919, being public health officer from 1913 until his removal from town. He then was for a time in Dallas, Texas, then in El Paso, Texas, 1921-2, and in 1922 removed to Albuquerque. Just previous to his death he had been appointed county health officer for Valencia county, just below Albuquerque.
Dr. McBride was a Mason, being a Shriner and a Knight Templar. He was also a member of the Knights of Pythias and the Foresters.
May 9, 1890, he was married to Laura F., daughter of George H. and Mary A. (Riley) Kelly of Bellows Falls, Vt., who survives him, with one son, George Clement, Dartmouth 1918. Another son died in infancy.
