Although spurred on by vivid recollections of a recent November afternoon on the Polo Grounds, Captain Merrill Dake and his Cornell basketball five which included the colorful Molinet were unable to dislodge Dartmouth from the Inter-Collegiate Basketball League pinnacle, in a hard, fast game on the Alumni Gymnasium floor, February 14. The Green quintet was in rare form and Coach Wachter made but one substitution, while Coach Ortner juggled his men freely in an effort to find the winning combination.
Picken and Captain Goas were the high scorers of the evening but the other Dartmouth men were in every play and it was largely the passing and team work of the Green which brought it victory. This was the ninth win of the year for the Hanoverians and the fourth consecutive in a league game.
