Albert L. Bartlett of Haverhill, Mass., at the request of many townsmen, is working on a history of that city, and hopes to complete it this YEAR.

Since graduating at Dartmouth, he has shown special interest in New England history and the early annals of Haverhill, his birthplace, and has contributed valuable research articles in that line. In 1915 he published "Some Memories of Haverhill," and furnished "An Historical Address on Haverhill" at the two hundred seventy-fifth anniversary of the settlement of the city that year.

Since for over fifty years he has been actively connected with the educational interests of Haverhill, as a teacher for eight years in its high school, and superintendent of schools for ten years, and in its municipal government has occupied important official stations, including that of mayor, it is very fit and fortunate that he has been induced to produce this history.

He has been a frequent visitor to Europe, and last year, after being a long time on the Continent, he spent the summer in London. He found England especially cordial.

The town of Haverhill, England, honored him with a reception and dinner. He was the guest of the Liberal Club and the Lyceum (ladies) Club in London; took tea with the head-master in Westminster, and was shown over Westminster Abbey by the canon in charge, etc., etc., and has urgent invitations to return.

Secretary, Nashua, N. H.
