Another summer has passed and a very busy fall is upon us. As usual our chief interest is with the team up in Hanover, and wondering just how many games we can attend.
The boys around Boston are very fortunate this year, as all the big games are near at hand.
Right now the Cornell game looms up as the game. Cornell is stronger than it has been during the past few years and will leave nothing undone to win all of its games.
At this time we announce a big class gathering, the largest and by far the best we have had for several years. Frank Doten, Sherman C!ough, and Brooks Palmer were in charge and put it across in fine style.
Had a very interesting letter from Jim McCabe during the summer. He is located in Winnipeg, and as far as he can find out is the only Dartmouth man in that neighborhood. Jim has a daughter five months old.
"Cub" Strong wrote from New Haven giving the following information: "Doc" Roberts, having completed his course in law at Yale, was duly admitted to the Connecticut bar in June, 1926, and is practicing in Stamford, Conn., with Carter Cressey, attorney. "Doc" spends most of his week-ends in Newark with Anne Bishop, sister of "Bob" Bishop '25.
"Dick" Dickinson is married and the father of a progressing youngster—male, "Dick" is engaged in the management of a grocery and restaurant business following the example of his dad, one of the owners thereof. With him is Larry Fogg '23.
"Cub" Strong also, having completed his course at Yale in law '25 and admitted to the bar of Connecticut in January, 1926, is practicing in Greenwich, Conn., with the firm of Wright and Hirschberg.
John Guppy spent the summer in Winthrop, Mass., working for the American Bridge Company. John was married nearly two years ago.
"Sherm" Baldwin has forsaken his apartment in Brookline, and is now living in a single house in Needham, Mass. There has been no reason given for the change.
"Herb" Home or better, Doctor Horne, was married in August. Brother Sam was his best man.
"Poke" Goss and George Fuller are still in the dance promotion game. This fall they are running parties at the New Statler and Copley Plaza before and after the Harvard game.
"Matt" Jones is prospering tremendously in the telephone company in New York. He is a traffic manager in charge of an important district in Brooklyn and takes his ease with his wife "Justa" in a high powered Stutz of venerable age.
Johnny Foster is traveling here and there for the Grant chain stores corporation, hiring men for them in several sections of the country.
"Swede" Swenson was married September 15 in Evanston. Charlie French '24 was best man.
"Stan" Hall had what must be called a "whirlwind courtship." The girl—Lucille Cutter of Wilmette, 111. They met at the Dartmouth Musical Clubs concert in Chicago in April. Engagement announced about three weeks later. Married early in June. Now living in Evanston.
"Buss" Carpenter's engagement to Mary Howe of Oak Park, was recently announced. The wedding will take place in January.
Rev. Everett S. Lyon goes from the Hadwyn Park Congregational church of Worcester, Mass., to the Federated church of Thompson, Conn., the change taking effect October 15.
