Our bachelors are gradually recognizing the wisdom of the step most of us took long ago, so that now there are only a few of them left. The latest one, to the knowledge of the Secretary, to desert the ranks was Ray Gorton, who was married to Mrs. Ida H. Lake of Brookline, Mass., October 11, 1926.
Roger Pierce has moved from Marlboro, Mass., to Richmond, Maine, where I understand he is connected with a shoe company.
Hoitt Charlton is now with the New England Coal and Coke Company in Boston.
Howard West is located in Kingston, N. H., manufacturing shoes.
Otto Taylor has another son, John Franklin Taylor, born last July.
At the annual dinner of the Boston Association we had one of the largest delegations, between 25 and 30, more than filling two tables.
Hap Hinman was down from Barre, and of course the dinner would not have been complete without George Underwood. George is becoming quite prominent in civic activities and fraternal circles in Gardner,—he is secretary of the Chair Club and chaplain of the Elks. No, that's not a misprint, chaplain is right.
Charlie Fay was rather chesty at the dinner owing to the birth a few days ago of his fourth son, the record for the class, unless someone has failed to report.
Hazen Jones also announced a son, Dana, his second child. Hazen has just purchased and moved into a new home at 87 Norwell Road, Melrose. He claims the telephone and street address is Melrose, but that the house is over the line in Wakefield. Sounds like a linehouse!
Easty writes, "Last night I attended the Dartmouth Alumni Association annual banquet in Chicago. The following Tenners were present: Don Bryant, Russ Palmer, Killy Nicol, Billy Williams, Paul Albert, and Munroe Cole. As usual the Tenners were first to make their presence known by giving the Ten Up call.''
