MAY 1927 George B. French

The average age of the 32 survivors of the class of '72, April 1, 1927, was 77 years, 7 months, 6 days. The average age of the 28 members of the academic department was 77 years, 6 months, 8 days, and of the four members of the Chandler School 77 years, 6 months, 25 days. The average of the ten lawyers was 77 years, 10 months, 14 days; of the three teachers, 79 years, 7 days; of the seven physicians, 78 years, 7 days; of the six farmers, 76 years, 11 months, 25 days; the one civil engineer was 77 years, 16 days; the one clergyman, 77 years, 5 months, 10 days; the one music teacher, 76 years, 5 months, 19 days; the one dentist, 77 years, 6 months, 16 days; the one insurance agent, 82 years, 1 month, IS days; and the one newspaper correspondent, 75 years, 6 months, 3 days.

The above seems to be a remarkable record of longevity. The insurance business is apparently a telling one, and the agent is a bachelor, and next in age below a lawyer, who was 82 years, 4 months, 20 days old on April 1.
