May is the month when most of the undergraduate competitions end, and hence a large part of the news might be summed up very well in the elections and appointments which were announced. The announcement of the results of the athletic competition is an annual event that arouses a great deal of interest on the campus inasmuch as it is the most

important undergraduate competition. The 18 sophomores appointed assistant managers by the Athletic Council this year are: H. T. Schneebeli was appointed assistant manager of football. He comes from Lancaster, Penn., and is a member of Theta Delta Chi.

R. G. Morrill will be the assistant manager of track. Morrill is a member of Phi Kappa Psi and lives in Brookline, Mass.

K. K. Kull, of Madison, Wis., will be the assistant manager of baseball next year. He is a member of Delta Kappa Epsilon.

P. H. Duback was appointed assistant manager of cross country. He is a member of Kappa Kappa Kappa and lives in Milwaukee, Wis.

F. C. Scribner, Jr., was appointed assistant manager of basketball. He is a member of Alpha Chi Rho and lives in Portland, Me.

L. L. Callaway, Jr., will be the assistant manager of hockey next year. Callaway, who lives in Helena, Mont., is a member of Psi Upsilon.

W. C. Smith, Jr., will serve as assistant manager of swimming next year. He is a member of Theta Delta Chi and lives in Milford, Dela.

S. Weaver, Jr., was appointed assistant manager of tennis. He is a member of Phi Kappa Psi and lives in Los Angeles, Calif.

H. E. Chase will be the assistant manager of lacrosse next year. Chase is a member of Delta Tau Delta and lives in Brookline, Mass. W. Blakey will serve as assistant manager of soccer next year. He lives in Nashua, N. H.

N. C. Ranney was appointed assistant manager of gym. Ranney, who is a member of Phi Kappa Psi, lives in Cleveland, Ohio. R. S. Bernhardt will be assistant manager of boxing next year. Bernhardt lives in Allston, Mass.

J. S. Whipple will serve as assistant manager of fencing next year. He is a member of Alpha Sigma Phi and lives in Concord, Mass.

F. H. Schmidt was appointed assistant manager of freshman football. Schmidt, who lives in Wilmette, Ill., is a member of Psi Upsilon. R. T. Whittlesey will be assistant manager of freshman track next year. He is a member of Theta Chi and lives in Philadelphia, Penn.

W. N. Galbraith will be assistant manager of freshman baseball next year. Galbraith is a member of Phi Gamma Delta and lives in South Orange, N. J.

F. H. Neff, Jr., was appointed assistant manager of freshman basketball. He is a member of Psi Upsilon and lives in South Euclid, Ohio.

R. B. Zeigler will serve as assistant manager of freshman hockey next year. Zeigler, who lives in Attica, Ind., is a member of Phi Gamma Delta.

Six men were elected from the 1930 nonathletic competition to assistant managerships under the Council of Student Organizations, positions which lead automatically in their senior year to regular managerial offices.

G. C. Fisher of Cleveland Heights, Ohio, leader of the band. Carter is a member of Clubs. He is a member of the Phi Kappa Psi fraternity. C. V. Raymond of Norwich, Conn., was chosen assistant manager of the "Players. He is a member of the Zeta Psi fraternity. H. C. Weston of Kingston, Mass., was elected assistant manager of publicity. He is a member of the Zeta Psi fraternity.

E. G. Smith of Milwaukee, Wis., was chosen assistant manager of the Forensic Union. He is a member of the Theta Delta Chi fraternity. J. C. Dunlap of Lancaster, Pa., was elected assistant manager of the band. He is a member of the Theta Delta Chi fraternity. E. I. Burns of Hutchinson, Kan., was elected manager of programs and assistant head usher. He is a member of the Sigma Alpha Epsilon fraternity.

The election of eight leaders and officers of the organizations under the control of the Council on Student Organizations was announced during the month. The following are the juniors and their offices : I. R. Carter of Maiden, Mass., was elected leader of the band. Carter is a member of the Phi Sigma Kappa fraternity. K. B. Michael of New Haven, Conn., a member of Delta Kappa Epsilon fraternity and the Sphinx senior society, will lead the Glee Club, while E. H. Plumb of Streator, 111., a member of the Psi Upsilon fraternity and the Sphinx senior society, will head the Instrumental Club.

J. W. Hodson of Waterbury, Conn., a member of the Phi Kappa Psi fraternity and the Casque and Gauntlet senior society, will be president of the Players. J. A. D'Esopo of Hartford, Conn., and J. G. Hodge, Jr., of East Orange, N. J., were elected vice-president and secretary respectively. Hodge is a member of the Alpha Delta Phi fraternity.

D. Goldman of Worcester, Mass., will serve as leader of the orchestra, and M. R. Goudey, of Brookline, Mass., who is a member of the Beta Theta Pi fraternity, will lead the Barbary Coast.
