CLASS OF 1885
NOVEMBER 1929 Edwin A. Bayley

All the classmates and friends of George H. Whitcomb of Topeka, Kansas, for many years judge of the Third Judicial District of Kansas, will be pleased to learn that in connection with the 64th annual commencement of Washburn College of Topeka, Judge Whitcomb received the honorary degree of Doctor of Laws,—a well-deserved distinction. Besides his long service on the bench, Whitcomb has served on the faculty of the Washburn School of Law for the past twenty-five years. While Whitcomb seems to have fully recovered from his serious sickness of several years ago, the Secretary regrets to say that Mrs. Whitcomb is, at present, far from well, but she hopes to be able to make the trip to their summer home at Buffalo Park, Colo. Henry Austin and his wife spent the winter, as usual, in St. Petersburg, Fla., where Henry has, at various times, served as president and treasurer of the New Hampshire Association, composed of Granite State residents who are affluent enough to have a winter home in St. Petersburg and a summer home in New Hampshire. Shortly after his return to Warner, N. H., this spring, a condition developed which sent him to the Newton (Mass.) Hospital in June. The Secretary is glad to report that he made a good recovery, and has gone to his home in Warner.

Sam Hudson is at his summer home at Hingham, Mass. He is making a good recovery from his sickness of a year ago.
