As in former years, we had a class supper at the Boston City Club on October 25, the night before the Harvard game. Our pair of guards were there, Joe Gilman and Bill Clough, fearfully over-weighting one end of the table. Lafayette Chamberlin, former head coach of the class, showed up just in time to get in on the feed. Fred Chase held a short signal practice in preparation for our twenty-fifth reunion next June, and Walter Emery threw several successful forward passes concerning class finances and the cost of the reunion. Oswin Bourdon was cheer leader. John Laing was there from Portland, Oregon, and boasted of his high forehead, which now runs way back nearly to his collar in the rear. It was a rare treat to all the rest of the team to see him, after many years of separation. He is a great back on both offense and defense. Rufus Day, of the firm founda- tion, made a dandy center, plugging all holes and making perfect passes. Doc Loder as head linesman, with his assistants, Andy MacMillan, Si White, George Hersam, and Bob Harding, measured every play. Midge Reed made several five-yard gains. Fourteen in all, not a large proportion of the class, but it was one of the most enjoyable class sup- pers we have had.
In the afternoon before the class supper the executive committee met at Fred Chase's office, all being present, and considered plans for the reunion. It was decided to appoint three committees of three or four members each, called Finance, Publicity, and Entertainment, to manage the reunion, each corn- mittee to be responsible to one member of the executive committee, and with the other two class officers as additional members exofficio.
Mr. and Mrs. Stanley Besse—yes, it's really true—were at the Harvard gamer Tubby bowled over the executive committee on Friday with the announcement that on October 17, 1929, he and Miss Katharyne M. Ellis of Portland, Oregon, were married in Chicago. The astonishing news was carried to the class supper, and by the action of those present, congratulations in the name of the class were sent to the bride and groom at the Parker House, and we said it with flowers. Mr. and Mrs. Besse are to live at 537 Clinton Ave., Brooklyn, N. Y.
