CLASS OF 1898
DECEMBER 1930 H. Philip Patey

The class of '98 was well represented at the Harvard-Dartmouth game, and we had a pleasant round-up at the Boston City Club the night before. The men attended first the general round-up in the main room from five to six-thirty, and then adjourned to a supper and talk-fest, which lasted until about ten o'clock. Those present were Joe Bartlett, Dr. Batchelder, Buck Chandler, Denis Crowley, Dr. Harry Goodall, Mush Jones, Ted Leggett, Bob Marden, Charlie Littlefield, Bradley Rodgers, and the Secretary.

In October William J. Witte was a delegate from New York to a printers' convention held in Boston. The Secretary had a pleasant chat with him, as did Ev Snow.

Laurence Hewes was in Boston during October, and had a good visit with Buck Chand ler and Joe Bartlett. "Bill" is now in charge of spending from 38 to 40 millions of government money yearly, largely construction work.

The Secretary got a letter of inquiry recently from Middleton concerning the ALUMNI MAGAZINE, and will say that the College now has charge of the subscription to the MAGAZINE. So it would be necessary for the class in order to secure the MAGAZINE to take it up with the authorities at Hanover.

Fritz Robbert was on the shelf for three months this summer, but we are all glad to know that he is once more in his customary good health.

_ Bob Marden is helping the business situation in Lowell by using one of the old unoccupied mills for a pony golf course.

George Farley's second daughter, Carolyn, is completing her senior year at Simmons College.

Ted Leggett escorted a group of officials of the Western Electric to the Harvard-Dartmouth game, and it was too bad that the elements were not more favorable.

Charles Littlefield has struck oil in the West. So I advise the class to all write him to see if we cannot get in on the gusher.

P. W. Perkins is planning to spend the winter in Cambridge with Mrs. Perkins, and their only daughter is to attend school in Boston.

Bradley Rodgers has recently moved to a comfortable home in Needham.
