The trio of intercollegiate champions is completed by T. D. Mann '33 of Quechee, Vt., Downhill Ski Champion. Other letter men still in college are W. T. Dewey '33 of Quechee, Vt., and R. P. Goldthwait '33 of Hanover, N. H., both of whom placed in last year's Carnival Jumping, the event which decided the meet. With such a nucleus of veterans and the large number of promising new men, one can expect much of the team.
Not a little of the rejuvenation of the Dartmouth Winter Sports Squad is to be attributed to the efforts of Coach Otto Schnieb who last fall took up the coaching position. Otto came to this country from Germany where he was well known as a skiier of the Arlberg school. Here he has acted as coach for the Appalachian Mountain Club and the Harvard Mountaineering Club with the same success he has had at Dartmouth. With the present material, including three intercollegiate champions, one of Olympic calibre, he should be able to make a great team.
Preparations have been made also for a large recreation squad, the members of which receive the same attention as those who try out for teams although in larger groups.
