Then Morton dropped back and tossed an over-the-line forward to Wild Bill McCall who caught it in the end zone with utter disdain for the Cornell backs who were surrounding him.

The next Dartmouth touchdown was a little more thrilling, for it revolved around an unusual set of circumstances. It was in the third period that Johnny Ferraro sent a zooming punt up the field to Bill Morton. Morton caught the ball on his own 80-yard line. The Cornell ends were slow in getting down the field.

Then to the amazement of the 12,000 people looking on Morton took one step with the ball and suddenly booted it back toward the Cornell goal. It bounded on the ten-yard line and bounced over for a touchback, the play consuming 69 yards of turf and being one of the most individual plays that this writer has ever seen on a football field. It was a slice straight from the book of Canadian rugby and something that a Dartmouth team had never done before.
