The Chicago Tribune (December 21) announces that "Prof. Richard T. Ely, one of the foremost American economists, was married during the summer (1931) to Miss Margaret Hahn, who was awarded the degree of Ph.D. by Northwestern University several years ago. The couple are residing at Radburn, N. J." This model real estate project of Radburn, largely planned by Professor Ely and financed by Eastern capitalists, including John D. Rockefeller Jr., has been regarded as one of the most important developments in modern housing.

The distinction of being a great-grandmother has fallen upon Mrs. James Finney McElroy and Mrs. William H. Gardiner in the birth of a son to Susan Gardiner Mikkelson, daughter of William H. Gardiner '06. The new arrival bears the name of William James.

Mrs. (Kenerson) Anderson at present in Deland, Fla., was definitely missed at the reunion last June, an absence she also keenly felt. We shall hope for her presence in 1936. Mrs. Gale has signified her purpose to attend. More should be made of the "Sixtieth." '71 scored a definite success last June.

The following is from a class letter recently received from Abbott: "Some might think my life monotonous, shut in, as I am, like a bird in its cage, unable to leave my room. Not so have been the days of 1981. They have been days of joy and peace and accomplished plans. Five years ago I planned twelve books of translations of the works of India's poet-saints. As this year closes tomorrow, all the twelve are completed. Seven are published, one is in the press, the remaining four practically ready for the press."
