CLASS OF 1929
MARCH 1932 Frederick W. Anders

An engraved card announces that Mr. and Mrs. Kingsbury Smith Nickerson will be at home after the first of March at 12 Summit St., East Orange, N. J. Nick married Clarissa Mayo, February 3, at Scarsdale, N. Y.

And out in California Noel Salomon started the year off right by marrying Frances Delfs in Pasadena on New Year's Day.

The other day between lectures at the Law School Herb Ball passed me the following notes which he had written up for the class letter:

"Here are some jottings that I have picked up from Sim Cantril, who comes over to see me from time to time, taking time off from his studies at the Harvard Medical School, where he finishes next June.

"The one about Joe Losey came from his sister, who is a senior at Wellesley.

"Jerry Harris and McKelvey took first and second in the National Board of Medical Examiners' examinations, which are taken by medicos from all over the United Statesquite an honor.

"J. Fred Ingram made a flying visit to Boston over the week-end of January 23. He labels himself as an 'executive without portfolio' of the Ingram-Richardson Co. at the Bayonne, N. J., factories. He is living in Jersey City, and is still the old time Ferdie.

"On his hearsay evidence: "Herb Wollison is with the Bankers Trust Co. in New York.

"Jim Hodge is back at his old summer-time racket of selling tombstones, which is now his life's work. His sales cry is, 'Everyone has to have one.'

"Bill Henretta was observed at the New York toy show expounding on the excellency of 'Henretta Toys.' All of the class fathers should touch him for free samples.

"Howie Nichols and Johnny Martin are roommates at the Harvard Medical School, third year.

"Raymond Wilmot White is in India, trying to 'Out-Gandhi Mr. Gandhi' as secretary to Prof. Hocking of Harvard, who is one of the investigators for the Rockefeller commission to study foreign missions. He will see lots of the Far East before he comes back.

"Joe Losey is stage manager of Jed Harris' new play 'Alibi,' in which Charles Laughton the famous English star of 'Payment Deferred' has the lead. Joe was formerly connected with the same show.

"Sim Cantril will do his interning next year at the Mayo Brothers Clinic at Rochester, Minn., which, in case you don't know it, is a prize intemeship among the medicos.

"And as Phil Sherman was wont to call himself, 'Your Correspondent' is still trying to find a job with a law office in New England, preferably in the state of Rhode Island or Massachusetts.

"Oh, yes—Just got my first remuneration from the law. Completed a memorandum of law for a law firm and was paid at $1.00 per hour."

Here is an excerpt from Charlie Gaynor's last letter:

"Things are particularly busy in Vienna just now, and there is much of interest to see and hear. But I think I shall tear myself away in a few weeks and sail for America. It sounds funny. What does the old place look like? Had a recent letter from Dudley which was quite in his style, although his sense of humor has changed from Parisian to Back Bay. Ed Plumb is now in New York at the Mannes School of Music. His teacher here, Dr. Weisse, went over there to teach and Ed followed. He is living in Glen Ridge with Frank Hodson, who was '31 and in the Barbary Coast.

"Gee, I had a marvelous vacation in Bad Aussee, quite near the German border, in the mountains. Skiing every day for about seven hours. It is a tiny little village entirely surrounded by high mountains. In winter it is so beautiful that one is inclined to yell fake. Little kids begin to ski at the age of six and maybe they aren't good. I had a lot to learn. It was a great relief from Vienna and gave me a good mental rest."
