Through the continued and gracious hospitality of Matt Jones and Mrs. Jones the class was privileged to break bread with them at their home at 30 Ledges Road, Newton Center, Mass. Notwithstanding the severe and widely pervasive economic conditions, twenty-seven members attended. There were present Adams, Ames, F. C. Allen, J. E. Allen, R. W. Bartlett, Blakely, Claggett, Colby, Griffin, Hall, Hardy, Hurd, Jones, Knowlton, Lewis, Lyon, McGroty, Marden, C. C. Merrill, Palmer, Parker, Sherman, F. L. Smalley, Spooner, A. W. Stone, E. M. Stone, and Wallis. Billy Wallis traveled the longest distance, coming from Washington, D. C. We missed our New York and Far West members, and the familiar faces of those who will not be with us again. The ancient anecdotes were retold and the new events related. The bright oases of the past grow brighter; the firm fellowships mount in worth and interest; the class is getting ripe. The time has come when the brunt of the world's work is being borne by younger people. But this is nature's way. It is inexorable, it may be all wise and beneficent; but it is hard to adjust ourselves to that point of view. The unfailing kindness of Matt and Mrs. Jones, which has made these meetings possible, admits of no appraisal, for it can neither be measured nor repaid.

The Randolph Sanitorium in Randolph, Vermont has been renamed Gifford Memorial Hospital in honor of our lamented classmate, John P. Gifford.
