Roald A. Morton '34, of New Rochelle, N. Y., was elected chief of the undergraduate fire squad, and William B. Clark '35, of Amesbury, Mass., was chosen foreman at a recent meeting of this traditional student organization. Announcement was also made from the President's office of the appointment of eight new men to fill the vacancies in the squad. They are Jerry A. Danzig '34, New York City; Philip J. Glazer '34, Memphis, Tenn.; Robert H. Michelet '34, Washington, D. C.; Donald C. Hagerman '35, Arlington, Mass.; George F. Hill '35, Littleton, N. H.; Charles H. Stearns Jr. '35, Mansfield, Mass.; Elbert L. Camp '36, Bay Shore, N. Y.; and William J. Mack '36, Haverhill, Mass.
The undergraduate fire squad has a tradition dating back more than a hundred years, and numbered among its early members Daniel Webster, whose fire bucket is still preserved by the College.
