An enthusiastic group of the Dartmouth Alumni Association of Baltimore met at the Blackstone on the evening of September 5th to open activities for the coming season. After the inactivity of the summer everyone was most anxious to resume the regular meetings which have afforded so much pleasure and given us all a greater realization of the spirit and comradeship which are a heritage of the College.

The purpose of this first meeting was the election of officers and organization of plans for the ensuing year. After an excellent dinner, the meeting was opened by H. R. Hastings '00. Last year's officers read brief reports summing up the activities of the association during the past year. R. C. Hazard '29, chairman of the nominating committee, then reported on the committee's nominations for officers for the present term. Voting ensued with the following results: L. E. Davis '20, president; R. C. Colton '35, vice-president; G. V. Parkhurst '30, second vice-president; J. H. Latham '29, secretary; and W. C. Grant '19, treasurer.

The Baltimore Association is a young one and is handicapped by the relatively small number of alumni in this immediate locality. However, the percentage who turn out at the meetings is exceptionally high and we feel that great strides have been made toward our main objective of promoting the name of Dartmouth and its meaning in this vicinity. Each year we put up for competition among the local preparatory schools a Dartmouth hockey trophy. This was won for the second time by Tome School this past year and the presentation of the award was made by Dick Colton and George Parkhurst. The Association has been instrumental in sending several men to the College and we feel much elated over the progress of the organization during the past few years. A series of meetings has been tentatively arranged which includes Dartmouth movies, card parties and guest speakers. All in all, it looks like another highly successful year.
