Efforts to interest Dartmouth alumni of New York in The Fresh Air Club, the oldest hiking organization in the country, are being made by Mortimer Bishop, secretary of the New York Athletic Club. Former members of the Outing Club are especially invited by Mr. Bishop to get in touch with him about the continuation of their outdoor life.
The club was organized 58 years ago by members of several athletic clubs to afford professional and business men an opportunity for exercise and recreation in the open, chiefly by walking in season, with skating and snowshoeing in winter.
On the club's roster during its long history have been alumni of Harvard, Yale, Princeton, Columbia, and N. Y. U., and members of the New York Athletic and Crescent Athletic Clubs, the Explorers Club, and American Alpine Club.
Mr. Bishop may be reached at the New York Athletic Club, 180 West 59th Street, New York City.
