Activities of the club during the summer centered largely around the six young men who are entering Dartmouth this fall. Local alumni are developing concave backs from so much chest expanding over these boys. In more sober moments we are apt to remember the value of the advertising brought by the ski teams performance last spring and also the factor of returning good times, but for the most part we de- lude ourselves into thinking we had some- thing to do with it.
A party at Sam Barnes' country place was the highlight of the summer season. About forty people attended and the presence of the new Dartmouth crop plus Prof, and Mrs. Geiger who spent a good part of the summer in this locality made it a great success. Informal dinners and luncheons later on added a good deal to the entertainment for the summer.
Plans for the winter are as usual indefinite but should again be built around the campaign for new applicants to Dartmouth. The certainty of at least three boys applying next year plus several others who are not yet decided indicates that a busy year is in the offing.
In the hopes that some alumni will read this and make note, the writer extends on behalf of the Dartmouth men in this locality a cordial invitation to all alumni travelling through Seattle to drop in or call on the Secretary. While no regular luncheons are held, a visiting Dartmouth man is just the excuse needed and we can promise a cordial reception. We do more than invite you, we beg you to come. Three thousand miles is a long ways from Hanover and Dartmouths bearing news will deserve and get the fatted calf.
