Assumes Athletic Post

The appointment of William H. McCarter '19 as temporary Supervisor of Athletics, to fill the vacancy created by the illness of Harry R. Heneage '07, was announced by the Dartmouth College Athletic Council on October 1. Mr. Heneage was stricken with a severe intestinal upset about a month ago and has been confined to Dick's House. His condition is steadily improving, but it will be some time before he is able to resume his duties at the athletic office.

Mr. McCarter, who is assistant librarian of the College, was formerly a member of the Dartmouth Athletic Council, and as an undergraduate was manager of both football and baseball. He now is also an assistant professor of English but has not actively engaged in teaching during the past year or so.
