The Players have drawn much approbation to themselves by the announcement of an unusually well-balanced year's program, plus the inauguration of season coupon books with tickets to all the shows at a special rate. In announcing their complete program at this time, the Players have departed from precedent, and the announcement is of particular interest because of the diversification of the program.
At Fall Houseparties, November 15 and 16, they will present "Merrily We Roll Along" by Kaufman and Hart, a Broadway success of last season. In December, a double-feature bill will be offered, more or less experimentally. Two plays of a radically different nature are scheduled, the industrial play, "Waiting for Lefty" by Clifford Odets, and Shaw's "Androcles and the Lion." At Carnival "Flora Dora" or a Gilbert and Sullivan operetta will be offered. Other shows during the rest of the year will be "The Brothers Menechemus" by Plautus, Shakespeare's "Julius Caesar," and at Spring Houseparties either Wycherley's "The Country Wife," Colley Cibber's "The Careless Husband," Farquar's "The Recruiting Officer," or some available Broadway play of the coming season.
