FOOTBALL ACTIVITIES opened up at the Club on September aist with a spirited debate on the merits of the old-time "Turtlenecker" brand of football vs. the "Stockingless Speedster" brand.

Charlie Boyle '01, and Clark Tobin '10, prominent in Dartmouth football of their era, battled two more recent stars, A1 Marsters '30, and Bill Morton '3a, to a draw. Stanley Besse '05, was the judge and Josh Davis '27, the referee. Clark Tobin showed his old-time form when he smoked his own cigar instead of the loaded one Josh so kindly offered him.

The broadcasts for five of Dartmouth's games have been arranged for at the Club by direct wire from the playing field:

For October—Bates, Brown and Harvard. For November—William and Mary and Cornell.

Class dinners have been unusually successful at the Club this fall, with over 25 different classes holding dinners and with some classes having turn-outs in excess of 50 members.

The Club has hired the grand ballroom of the Commodore Hotel for the tea dance to be held after the Columbia game November 30th. The Committee in charge of this dance expects over 2,000 to be there. The Big Green players and coaches have been invited to attend as guests of the Club.
