The Junto, campus politico-literary discussion society has also commanded attention this fall by presenting an interesting and well-conceived program. In an effort to become a more active organization and shed its "lecture-bureau" aspect, the Junto has planned a series of meetings to be led by members of the College group who have interesting matters to speak of. These will include talks by undergraduates on paintings, the motion picture industry, and other subjects, as well as readings of plays and poetry and musicales by members of the faculty group.
The junto is also planning an interesting list of visiting lecturers. A particularly noteworthy part of its program is the plan to have representative and outstanding leaders of the Democratic, Republican, Socialist, and Communist parties give talks next spring, on successive weeks if possible. Although these speakers have not been selected yet, such names as Newton D. Baker, Frank Knox, and Clarence Hathaway, editor of the Daily Worker, are being mentioned. W. J. MINSCH, JR.'36.
