COMPLAINTS HAVE BEEN made, with considerable justification, by alumni who would like to see the College represented at least occasionally on radio programs. It is pointed out that the name of the College is seldom heard in this great entertain' ment and instructional field. There are more complaints in regard to the lack of nation-wide football broadcasts but the question extends to other activities.

Orchestras and glee clubs sometimes take to Dartmouth songs for radio broadcasts and the results are not, to put it mildly, so good. Professor Longhurst of the department of Music has taken steps to make orchestrations and other musical arrangements of Dartmouth songs available in the great music retailing houses. For the information of those who are interested—the College will furnish musical scores to individuals or groups who want them. Complicated relationships have existed in respect to securing permission of copyright holders for the use of pieces from the Dartmouth Song Book. This book is copyrighted by Prof. Harry Wellman '07 and E. O. Grover '94, who are helping to a major extent to clear the way for those who wish to use Dartmouth songs.

In the field of education it is recognized of course that the radio has potentialities far beyond anything it has achieved to date. If there are ways and means for the College to pioneer in this field, as it has in other educational efforts, the result should be worth while.

A "Letter to the Editor," submitted by Dean Chamberlin '26, director of public relations for the Athletic Council, and printed in this issue, explains the failure of Big Green games to be broadcast in recent years. Home games have been put on the air, covering only a limited area, but nonetheless this policy shows Dartmouth to be willing and eager to meet alumni demand at this point. We cannot dictate what the policy shall be at rivals' fields.

IF THERE SHOULD be a way found to broadcast the Dartmouth Night ceremonies this winter what a fine rallying point it would be for alumni clubs throughout the country! According to the tentative plans suggested by Palaeopitus Dartmouth Night will this year be held at a "Rededication of Dartmouth Hall." It will mark the availability of the historic building for another, and what seems assured, a much longer period of usefulness to the College than it has ever had since its first construction in the eighteenth century.
