Intramural activities reached a high peak during the past month with contests being held in 8 different sports. Tournaments are being held at present in squash, handball and ping pong (an innovation this year which is meeting with much success). Dormitory volley-ball leagues are now in their second year and fraternity swimming has drawn teams from 20 houses. The annual foul-shooting contest was recently won by A. Pal umbo '37, who made 33 out of a possible 40 baskets.

For the first time a dormitory came through to win the college basketball championship, Russell Sage beating Alpha Delta Phi 35-34 in an overtime thriller. Sage then went on to beat Lowell House, champions o£ the Harvard House League, to the tune of 30-14. Sage was led by Howie Dunbar '38 and Bob Reno '38 while Jim Dickinson '35, El Camp '36 and Tauno Frigard '36 headed the Alpha Delt five.

In hockey, both of last years champions, Wheeler in the dormitory division and Phi Sigma Kappa in the fraternity leagues, retained their titles. The Phi Sigs had little trouble in defeating the Phi Gams 6-1 for the fraternity title, while Wheeler triumphed over Middle Mass in the dorm finals. In the class series, the Juniors put on a fast team which defeated the Sophomore club in the finals. Once more, Eddie Chamberlain '36 and El Wanstall '36 played dominant roles in intramural hockey by being the mainstays of all 3 championship teams-Phi Sigma Kappa, Wheeler and the Juniors.

In the dormitory winter derby, College Hall scored an impressive triumph by rolling up 19 points, taking places in each of the 6 events. Richardson finished second with 11 points. In the fraternity skiing and skating events, Phi Delta Theta triumphed with 15 points, followed by Phi Kappa Pi.
