On the second Tuesday in March, Ber- lin, N. H., elected a new mayor: Arthur Joseph Bergeron. We have no headlines, but we accord His Honor what little prominence we can, and record his achievement at the head of this column. According to our class file successful campaigners for elective offices have been few and far between. We do not know the story of Art's campaign, nor what he has been doing on the political side since he received his law degree at Harvard in June, 1932, and set up his own practice in Berlin, but according to his present station it would not be going too far to say that he has not been wasting his time. Berlin, you will recall, is in Coos county, just north of Mt. Washington, and has a population of over 20,000.

On the same day last week that we received an announcement of the marriage of Clara Marsh Gray to Thomas La Salle Maynard, who should stalk down from the North Country, "the murmuring pines and the hemlocks," but Tall Timbers himself and his fair bride. No trumpets sounded his coming, no wild bird sang out a warning. He (they) just came ambling down the street; he was here, every inch of him. The bride, by the way, is of a normal, healthy stature. Her home, too, is in the North Country, but she walks daintily, gracefully, not as though she were wearing stilts. And Coles agreed heartily that the groom was to be congratulated, pounded with vigorous approval, and that the world was doing right by our Tom. Rumford, Me., is to be their home, where Tom will teach school, direct dramatics, coach, and be as sedate as his limbs will allow from September to June, perhaps go fishing the rest of the time. And just to prove that he can keep a secret it now appears that the marriage took place last August 16, in Megantic, Quebec.

And while we are on this romantic subject, the opportunity is taken to apologise [or making this tardy report of Don Simpson's marriage to Virginia Dolphin, which took place July 85, 1934. just Prior to Don's departure for Washington and his job with the Department of Justice. Virginia is the sister of Bob Dolphin, whose unfortunate death occurred a few years ago. The Simpsons live in Clifton (Marblehead), and Don is an assistant attorney general of the commonwealth, as earlier reported.

On March 16, George Marble was married to Sara Winifred Taylor, daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. James D. Taylor of Paris, Ky., in Fort Scott, Kans. After a wedding trip to South America Mr. and Mrs. Marble will live at 424 South Lowman St., Fort Scott, where George is managing editor of the Tribune.

Bill Keyes has been appointed class agent for the Alumni Fund, succeeding Bill Coles, who, with John Dickey and Jerry Swope, administered the '29 drive for the past five years. This column is no place for general Alumni Fund publicity, but it is entirely appropriate to express here the class' appreciation of the five years of fine effort which has been exerted in this cause by the Coles-Dickey-Swope triumvirate. The class has a record in Alumni Fund participation of which we cannot be proud. Contemporary classes have beaten it regularly and handsomely. Bill Keyes tackles the job with hope in one eye, determination in the other. He will have able assistance only if each one of you shake yourself into a realization of the vital importance of your own individual participation.
