Professor Shirley G. Patterson '24h has recently been appointed one of three members of the Committee on Resolutions and Policies of the Modern Language Association of America. To this committee are especially referred for recommendation or rejection all problems of educational policy in the teaching of modern languages and literatures, as well as proposed action on current issues. Professor Patterson will represent teachers and scholars in the Romance Languages. At the December meeting of the Modern Language Association at Richmond, Va., Professor Patterson will appear on the program with a paper, "Rousseau, Raynal, Radischev and Russia: French Social Ideologies and the Origins of Russian Liberalism."
