This delightful story of a little Chinese boy and his sister, by the daughter of Dartmouth's Professor Lattimore, is one of the outstanding children's books in years.

Enchanting pictures of a kitten. Horn, Madeline: Farm on the Hill, Scribner, $2.00.
A story of life on the farm illustrated in color by Grant Wood.
Holme, Geoffrey: Children's Art Book, Studio, $2.50.
In spite of the title this is not an art history, but is an unusual attempt to show children what artists have been seeing and trying to portray. Text and drawings by the author plus examples of Western and Oriental art.
House, Homer D.: Wild Flowers, Macmillan, $3.95.
Not a children's book but the beautiful plates make it interesting to old and young. An addition to any family library.

A story of Poland in the 15th century by a well known Dartmouth Professor. This book won the Newberry award as the best children's book of its year.
Untermeyer, Louis: This Singing World, Harcourt, $3.00. (8-16).
