DARTMOUTH MEN AND their guests to the number of about 75 met for their annual dinner at the Shrine Club Friday evening. This was the largest meeting of Dartmouth adherents held here in many years. Henry H. Austin '85 was elected president at the business meeting and presided over the after dinner program, which consisted of addresses by Dr. Henry Mann Silver '72, who spoke of the Fraternity situation, Judge C. I. Carey (William and Mary '05), and Mrs. Edwin B. Frost. Judge Carey dwelt on the importance of the Supreme court decision in the famous "Dartmouth College Case" in which Daniel Webster, Dartmouth graduate, pleaded for the College and Chief Justice John Marshall, William and Mary graduate, wrote the decision establishing the validity of contract. Mrs. Frost gave some amusing stories of Hanover characters whom she and her husband had known during his years of residence as a student and teacher there. Then followed several reels of motion pictures of winter life, featuring the Dartmouth Outing Club, and the Winter Carnival. The other officers chosen were W. V. McDuffee '92 vice president and Carrol E. Hill '20 secretary-treasurer. Mrs. Frost was thanked by a rising vote for the enjoyable afternoon party at her home which was attended by about 35 persons. Miss Katherine B. Frost and Miss Caroline Akin assisted her with the refreshments.
