I AM PLEASED to announce that the New Britain Club has a new Secretary, William E. Judd Jr. '34 and while we are all sorry to see Phil Pelletier '15 relinquish the job which he has done so well for so long, we are glad that his successor seems sure to carry on Phil's work very successfully.
The Connecticut Alumni Clubs voice their deep sympathy to Hervey Lewis '41 of Stratford for his immeasurable loss in the death of his mother and father, both of whom were substantial and greatly respected citizens of Connecticut.
The Bridgeport Club gave a picinic party on September 16th for the undergraduates and neophytes returning to Hanover shortly thereafter. The affair was made possible by Larry Stone '24, Pres. of the club, who offered the facilities of his summer home at Madison which included swimming and Softball as well as food and drink. Over twenty-five, were present, including undergraduates, fathers and alumni. The alumni and undergraduates engaged in a spirited Softball game which was dominated in its early stages by the grand old men until the pace finally became too hot and condition took its toll. The get-together was an excellent idea for it gave the undergraduates a chance to become thoroughly acquainted with the oldsters and to know that the gap in age necessitates no abatement of the true Dartmouth spirit.
All of the clubs in Connecticut will blossom forth into concerted activity this month goaded by the inspiration which the Yale game always arouses.
