THE ANNUAL MEETING of The Dartmouth Club of Nashua, N. H., was held on Dartmouth Night, March 3, 1938, with President Harold D. Stillman '17 at the helm. Due to several conflicting activities on the same evening, we were unable to secure a 100% attendance as planned, but that will leave us 'something to shoot for next time.
Dinner was served at 7:30, followed by a business meeting to organize for the coming year. A new and simple set of by-laws were adopted and officers elected. Considerable interest was displayed in the report of the Committee on Student Help as made by Chairman E. B. Downey '30, and following his report, there was an extended discussion of how the Nashua Club can best co-operate with the College in this matter.
While we cannot expect to participate in this movement, as recommended by the Alumni Council, to the same extent that larger clubs in metropolitan centers are doing, still it was the unanimous opinion that we should submit a plan to the Council for approval and accumulate a fund to be administered by the College authorities in giving financial assistance to undergraduates, preferably those from the vicinity of Nashua.
In view of the amount of business to come before the meeting, the officers had made no arrangements for air outside guest speaker, but it so happened that Jim Everett, raconteur extraordinary and one time president of the class of 1910, was in town and—being drafted into service he gave us a most enjoyable half hour.
After two reels of football pictures the meeting closed as usual with the Dartmouth song.
