Bodwell, Edwin J.—"Bod" reports that he and Mrs. Bodwell are as well as usual, but he insists on reminding us of his great age. This is not an uncommon malady for the 50+graduate.
His son Donald, a lawyer in Los Angeles, is Clerk of the Superior Court. The daughter Marjory Cochran is a teacher in the Fremont High School in Oakland.
Clark, John Lew—Boasts of a new grandson, Peter Lincoln Clark, born at Berlin, N. H. on Aug. 6, 1939. The father is Robert Lincoln Clark of Dartmouth 1928. So it appears the summer has not gone so badly with John Lew after all.
Lougee, Dr. W. W. and Mrs. Lougee. The Secretary finds more news in her letter of July 16 than in the combined efforts? of all male members of '88. Our class was represented at the 50th of '89 by Wendell and Mrs. Williams, Doc and Mrs. Lougee and Dunlap. Others had expected to be there, but did not report to the Asst. Sec. Doc tried to call on John Lew and Burton Williams in July. This is recorded that both may know what they missed.
Richardson, William I.—Billie notes forsix months I have been supervising thesalvaging of timber leveled by the Sept.last hurricane. Surveying in blown-downtimber is good, exercise.
He wants to hear from Pearson since the last he saw of him in June 1938 he was headed towards Cannon Mt. Tramway. Will "Ben" please report.
Spencer, Henry F Reports that he has been the "Doctor's Pet" since Jan. Hopes to go to Florida this winter. His wonderful spirit will take him anywhere he wants to go is the belief of this scribe.
Walker, Fred A.—No word from Fred but we have from reliable sources the sad news of the passing of his faithful friend "Toby" who showed so much intelligence during the days of our reunion. So much that the class awarded him an honorary degree. He has gone the way of all good dogs and we shall miss him at our 60th.
Williams, Wendell-Has returned to the busy life after spending July and August at the Lake Placid Club. So his promise to the class that he was going to let up on work and worry was nothing but a "scrap of paper." ,
Wendell had 2 nephews graduating in Class of 1939 which perhaps was the compelling force for his and Mrs. Williams presence at Hanover in June.
Hardy, George F.—George's note, just arrived, carries the sad news of another good resolution gone with the summer. Sept. 8th finds him with his usual responsibilities at 309 Broadway. Summer agreeable, health excellent.
Lougee, Dr. W. W.—At last Doc joins our happy group of Grandfathers. On Sept. Bth Gerard Rom Lougee, son of Richard J. (the official photographer for our 45th reunion) and Clara Rom Lougee arrived via the Melrose Hospital. Richard of the class of 1927 you will know if you have read the ALUMNI MAGAZINE is head of the Department of Geology of Colby College at Waterville, Maine. Both the father and the grandfather are doing nicely.
