Reference was made last month to Cleary's annual attendance at Alumni Carnival Feb. 17-18. We have since been informed that in addition to Snipe Esqerre and Doug and Helen Everett several other '26ers were present. They were: Marion and Hal Marshall, Don and Dot Norstrand from out of town; and representing the Hanover Colony, Red and Emmie Merrill, Sally and Dan Drury, Sid and Barbara Hayward, and Paul Allen. This has become a very popular week-end in recent years, and someone has suggested that it be made an annual '26 conclave.

Sid Hayward was in New York on March 2 returning from a visit to several alumni clubs. He spoke at the annual dinners in Cleveland, Detroit, Cincinnati, and Louisville. Among the '26ers he saw was Jim Traquair, who is the very capable president of the Cincinnati Association. We assume that the unholy three, Chaffin, St. Clair, and Edgar, were on hand for the Detroit party. (Also Manser, Heavenrich, and Wylie.—ED.)

A report has come to us that Jake Jacobus is crowding Cleary for the right to his nickname "Million Dollar." It seems that Jake made the public announcement that he was tired of paying doctors' bills, so he and Evvie trotted off to Florida for a few weeks of healthful sunshine. The excuse, however, seems weak, because our special investigator reports that the children (cause of various doctors' bills) were left conveniently at home. However, ignore all of this, Jake, because we're all jealous.

While we are discussing the plutocratic class we must mention Don Hoffman and George Champion as perennial visitors to the Southland. Incidentally, George is our nominee for the hall of fame this month, having been elevated to full vice presidency of the Chase National Bank. On March 1 he received very nice publicity in the Wall St. Journal. Your correspondent missed it, but Ed Hanlon was on the alert and kindly sent the clipping along.

Holt McAloney has resigned as advertising manager of Funk & Wagnalls Company, with whom he has been associated for the past three years. He is going to the Educational Publishing Company of Darien, Conn., publishers of The GradeTeacher and St. Nicholas. Mac will take over the work of the late Sidney Morse. Before joining Funk & Wagnalls Company, he was connected with Time.

The joint class dinner with 1924 and 1925 proved so successful last June that a return engagement was arranged for Feb. 17. Among those present were the following '26ers: Jim Jenkins, George Scott, Bob Lowe, Brant Wallace, Graham Ford, Bob Stopford, Hank Merry. Norton Van Duyn, Hub Harwood, Fred Hurd, and the writer.

We hadn't seen Bob Lowe in a number of years, and enjoyed very much learning of his career. He had been with a rubber concern in Dayton for a number of years and had worked into a junior executive position, when business became bad and Bob found himself "between engagements." He had always wanted to study medicine, and decided that seven years out of college was not too late. Displaying unusual intestinal fortitude, he went back to school, made up his "pre-med" requirements, went through medical school, and is now serving his interneship. Our hats are off to Bob.

We have just learned of the arrival of another Floyd-Jones, John Stanton, who first saw the light of day on December 26 last. He tipped the beam at 8 lbs. 4 oz., and is entered in the class of 1961. That will be our 35th Reunion, and Tom says he's planning to be there.

Dr. G. F. Knight (Granny to you) is building a new house in White Plains, and from what we hear of it the throat-cutting business must be good.
