He was the unanimous choice of the Eastern Intercollegiate Basketball League coaches for a place on the Allstar five. From across the country a Stanford quintet looking back on its opponents for the season selected him as the right forward on their all-opponent team. He smashed all existing scoring records for the E.I.L. with 159 points, passing by seven points the old record set by Dan Nichol of Penn in 19a 1.

He put a new record for scoring in one game on the books with his 26 points in one contest scored against Pennsylvania. He paced his mates to a new team scoring record of 553 points, breaking a Dartmouth mark of 521 established in 1938. He set a new record for field goals in one season at 68. His mates called him not only a shot of unusual ability, but first of all a "team" player. Officials working in games in which he played predict that he will go on to a place among the first five stars ever to play the game. Coach Osborne Cowles says that he is the type who will never change his attitude toward the game, toward his mates, or toward himself.
