Two NEWCOMERS to our local group- W. N. Fenton '3O, with the Bureau of Ethnology, Smithsonian Institute; and F. Lowell Haas '35, Eastern Air Lines, regularly with the United Air Lines in San Francisco, but "leased" to EAL for a spell. Page Worthington '33 saw the Dartmouth- Columbia basketball game in New York and now we'll have to listen to that all spring. Washington alumni have received tickets for the Musical clubs' concert and dance sponsored by the Baltimore alumni. We hope a number of the local boys will give our sister association the support that helps when it comes to paying guarantees. The Dartmouth Night celebration and the annual spring dinner were combined this year, on March 9, when a well-attended dinner was held at the Roger Smith Hotel. The boys had to crash a picket line, because the hotel employees were on strike for some reason or other. Speakers included our best known local alumnus, Henry P. Blair 'B9, Andy Gustafson, who also needed no introduction but got it. George Morris 'll, well known raconteur, attorney, golf-player, and member of the Iron Hat Brigade, did a swell job toastmastering; a magician and the Chesapeake and Potomac Telephone Cos. Glee club furnished the entertainment. Of course, the individual tables did some entertaining themselves, and the informal singing was better than usual (for which thanks).
