DON'T FORGET! 1941 Is OUR REUNION YEAR
Because this is our reunion year I hope every one will drop me a line about themselves and their family so that next June each of us will be up-to-date on every classmate.
Due to the untiring efforts of our meandering President, ably assisted by Harold Rugg '06 ranks again in the first third of the classes contributing to the AlumW Fund.
At the June meeting of the Board of Trustees of the College, Ned French was reelected Alumni Trustee for a term of five years. At the annual meeting of the General Association of Dartmouth Alumni Nat Leverone was elected vice president of the
Association. Francis Childs was elected faculty representative of the Alumni Council for a term of three years.
Harold Rugg was awarded an honorary degree of Master of Arts at the June commencement.
Wm. K. McGrail, son of Emily and our Bill, is a freshman at Dartmouth this fall. Here's hoping he won't delve too deeply into his father's college record.
W. Langdon Powers was married on August 24 to Miss Barbara Ann Lillard, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Walter Huston Lillard '05, at Marion, Mass.
On June 22 Miss Athalee Eastman, Daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Frank Eastman, was married to Philip B. Blakesly, Columbus, Ohio.
Ralph Hartmann, son of Margaret and Max, has just announced the formation of the firm of Cleaves and Hartmann for the general practice of law. Beanie Waring's present business address is 88 Purchase St., Fall River, Mass.
Joe Cushing, adorned with more hair on his upper lip than on the top of his head was in New York recently to confer with Thurlow Gordon. From what I gathered it is a big question whether or not our brilliant barrister will be able to keep Joe from being sent back to Hitler to show him what a real moustache looks like.
19o6's cross-country commuter, Freddie Welch, was in New York on August 14, having driven from Pullman, Washington, to spend the day at the World's Fair on Dartmouth Day. On his return home he expects to visit the three states which he failed to pass through on his other trips East.
Dr. and Mrs. Arthur Cragin of Kingston, N. Y., announce the marriage of their daughter, Helen Bunting, to Raymond Wyman on Monday, June 24, 1940.
"Annie" Moore's son Richard was married to Miss Claire Caroline Padclleford of Newbury, Vermont on April 13, 1940. Of interest to all of us I am sure is the announcement of a recently published article by Arthur D. Holmes on the "Influence of age of cow on ascorbic acid content of certified milk."
At the Victory Dinner given the Dartmouth basketball team at which the permanent trophy was presented for winning three eastern league championships in a low, congratulations were extended by orm Bankart, who, you will remember, captained Dartmouth's first champion basketball team.
