The cockles of our heart are still aglow with the steady influx of newsbearing postals. In this we are not alone: our mailma?ihas been having a field day.. For over 22 years, since the days when we were receiving mash notes from kindergarten contemporaries, he has followed the practice of his fellows in reading our postals. Though the current onslaught makes him a little late in his rounds, and engenders a suspicion that your scribe has opened a mail-order house, he assures us that he can stand the gaff. And you know that we can; so keep it up.

FIREMEN: Visiting fireman honors go to Stowell and Colton up in dear old Dix field, Maine. Your memories of Dixfield they approximate my own, are doubtless that its chief claim to fame is that it is the place Randy Stowell left in favor of Hit over; the fact that he subsequently preferred Staten Island to Dixfield only firms this opinion. But things hare changed, due largely, I feel sure, to Geo Col ton's move from the Oranges to Dir field. It may be that, or it may be that tween the two of them they have buitl better mouse-trap. In any event, the (or at least a prime part of it) hascerE been beating a path to their door. Don; Ibba Hagerman have been up 101 them, before settling again at DeefL Academy for the winter, and Bob Roo reportedly runs up there from Boston to lunch with them. Herb Stearns, at panied by his wife, his father, and a . (we assume this to be the order), hoie Dixfield shortly thereafter and, to Colton, "got out their canoe for ??? ticing body of water." When we set ??? last item of propaganda off against Herb's teuient that "they both should clean out Androscoggin River; it 'steenks' from paper mill pollution and is lousy canoeing though beautiful to look at," the only logical conclusion is that Colton has gone native in a big way.
"other visiting firemen include Wiley Hubbell, still one of G.E.'s most travelled auditors, who has been living at Cleveland's most palatial hotel for the past month, during which we did a University flub dance together. While Link Washburn remains in the Arctic, where his mother reports he is within 700 miles ofthe Pole, his mother has been visited by Rocky and Ruth Rockwell, Fritz Hormel, Bill Lingley and his bride (of which marriage we have no record), and the Coltons and Hagermans.
