Word from Skid indicates that he is cheerful and still very active with his various newspaper columns, which are always interesting. He advises that Senator Calef from Barrington, New Hampshire, is on his District Draft Board, and that Dr. Sanders of Claremont is Medical Advisor for the Sullivan County board.
City Engineer Charles A. French of Laconia is back at his desk after a check-up at the Veterans' Hospital at White River.
Dr. Edward S. Miller of Woodsville, N. H., was one of the last visitors to the New York World's Fair, and wrote a good story about it for his local paper. He was accompanied by his son, Elmon, a member of the operating staff at the transatlantic radio station at Manahawken, N. J. Elmon's engagement to Miss Maud Gaskill of Barnegat, N. J., has been recently an- nounced.

Your acting secretary had the pleasure of sitting with Dr. Martin and close to the Harry Metcalfs at the Dartmouth-Columbia game at Hanover, and later in the month saw the King at the Dartmouth- Harvard game in Cambridge. Both Harry and the King seemed very well. Harry seemed particularly genial, and we realize why when he advised us that his daughter had very recently presented him with a granddaughter. With the Metcalfs at the Columbia game, we were pleased to greet Skid's youngest son, John.
"The King's" son, Steve, Dartmouth 1930, was also at the Columbia game and we saw him again at the Harvard game. Passing through Claremont from the Columbia game, made a very pleasant call on Dr. Harry Sanders, who seemed very well and active.
Enjoyed greatly a Sunday morning call on Mr. and Mrs. Winthrop Porter Abbott at Greenfield, Mass. Abbott appeared somewhat improved although he is still confined to the house.
At the alumni council meeting, held at the Boston University Club, the day before the Harvard game, McKay and your acting secretary had a fine reunion. "Mac" looks very well, is very active, and each felicitated the other on having recently passed our 70th birthdays. It seems that "Mac's" sister, Dr. Florence McKay, located on Beacon Hill in Boston, is prominent in the State's Child Welfare Department.
A visit with George Dodge indicated that all is well with him, and he surely looks it.
Judge "Eddie" Griffith writes that his foot is still bothering him, and that he is limping quite badly. He is very busy as many transfers of real estate are taking place in and around that beautiful portion of Vermont where Manchester is situated. "Ed" is one of the Local Board Committee Advisors for Registrants.
