Moulton has retired from active duty as an officer of the National Life Insurance Company, after 48 years of continuous service. The Montpelier ARGUS, January 23rd, commented on the annual meeting of the Company, held that day, as follows: "Age, inexorable law to which life insurance men are not immune, led to the largest number of changes in the Company personnel in many years. This is because the recent institution of a pension plan made retirement obligatory at certain ages."

Moulton became a clerk in the Treasurer's Department October, 1891, Assistant Treasurer, January, 1897, Actuary, April, 1902, Treasurer, November, 1929. He has also been a member of the Finance and Insurance Committees and will be retained as a member of the former. Hearty congratulations on his long service and best wishes for continued health and vigor.

Dartmouth men have long had a deep interest in the "National" and have watched its steady growth with pride and confidence. DeBoer '84 was elected President in 1902 and served until his death in 1916 Howland, Counsel since 1903, was made Vice President and Counsel in 1910, succeeded DeBoer as President in 1916 and served until 1937 when he became Chairman of the Board Moulton's record has been given George Young '9O became Chief of the Legal Staff in 1916 and in 1934 Vice President and a member of the Executive Committee. He also retired in January Vernon Doty '92, whose recent death was mentioned in the February MAGAZINE, was Auditor and had been at the Home Office since 1909.

... .Wellman of our class, was State Agent for New Hampshire for 44 years. He retired in 1938 and was succeeded by his son-in-law Robert Burroughs '21. When Wellman retired, his was the largest "National" agency in the U. S.

The Barre (Mass.) GAZETTE, January 35th, under the title "Though 80 Years of Age, Preaches on Short Notice," stated that Blanchard, a retired clergyman, preached at the Congregational Church the previous Sunday, on less than 24 hours notice, in place of the minister who was ill.
