PROF. JAMES DOW MCCALLUM Of the English department and Prof. Herbert W. Hill of the History department will be guest speakers at an evening meeting of the Dartmouth Alumni Association of Boston at the University Club on Wednesday, March 13. Professor McCallum, author of the recent biography of Eleazar Wheelock, will give the main talk of the evening on "Eleazar Wheelock Returns to Dartmouth." Professor Hill, chairman of the Hanover Holiday committee, will describe the program for this June's alumni college. A buffet supper will precede the meeting.
Professor McCallum's talk will be another in the series which the Boston Association inaugurated last year to foster closer relations between the faculty and alumni of the College. Prof. Harold J. Tobin '17 of the Political Science department addressed the Boston alumni earlier in the college year, and speakers before the Boston group last year included Prof. Frank M. Anderson of the History department, Prof. John M. Mecklin of the Sociology department, and Professor Hill.
Professor Tobin addressed the Dartmouth Alumni Association of Washington, D. C„ at a similar meeting on February 28, explaining efforts of the various social science departments at Dartmouth to keep undergraduates posted on government activities, and also discussing the Dartmouth-in-Politics program sponsored by the Political Science department.
