JANUARY 6 WE HAD ONE of the most successful luncheons in the history of the Toledo alumni club. About 45 attended. The general reaction was that the movies of Carnival and the Yale Game were long enough and the speeches short enough to please everyone. Nine prospective students were on hand, including Stan Mauk's two boys, who will probably be on their way to Hanover about 1947. The oldest alumnus present was Dr. C. Purcell Haynes '88, who had played football for the college when its total enrollment was only 500 and every student turned out to cheer for the team.

One of the most remarkable features of this meeting was the fact that we had practically a 100% response from the announcement which was sent out to the alumni in northwestern Ohio. Of course, not all could attend the meeting, but even those who could not, returned their cards to the secretary and expressed their regret.
