ACTIVITIES OF THE St. Louis Club during the past several weeks have been directed chiefly to interviewing applicants for the class of 1944 and preparing to receive the Glee Club for the first time in fifteen years.

This year, more than fifteen men have applied for admission to the College from the Greater St. Louis area. The number of candidates has been growing steadily from year to year, and Dartmouth is becoming much better known in this vicinity. It was only a few years ago that hardly a native knew of the College, although Yale, Harvard and Princeton were well represented in alumni and undergraduates. A committee headed by Fred Long 'll has done the work of the interviews.

By the time these notes are in print, the club will have been honored by a visit from Dean Bill, and the Dartmouth fraternity will have gathered at the Annual Dinner to hear his talk. The date is March 12.

The Musical Clubs' Concert and Dance is scheduled for Friday, April 5, at Hotel Coronado. It is being held for the benefit of the Scholarship Fund and for the purpose of having a real Dartmouth party. About 80 St. Louis alumni are cooperating to make this a big event, ably directed by straw-boss Hugh A. Logan '34, who is doing fine work. Hugh heads a committee which includes Frank Cornwell '35, who did yeoman's service in making hotel arrangements; Ed Grace '38, Jimmy Jones 38. and Harvey Rhode '39, all of whom will take charge of making the visiting clubbers feel at home; and Clark Schmidt '33, man of all work. The morning paper informs us that it is expected that "debutantes of this and other seasons" will attend; so we feel that the Concert and Dance is definitely on the road to success.
